Mount Martha (1996)
About
The project is located on a beautiful steeply sloped site overlooking Safety Beach. The house is organized around a continuous curving staircase of 64 stairs, a spine that connects and slices through the three levels of the house and the landscape at either end of the site.
The house is gently curved creating both sheltered and exposed outdoor spaces and allows experience of a gradual unfolding of the house's spaces as you move along the main circulation spaces.
